If you are new to the Total war series i would suggest getting Shogun 2 mainly because it can be much more easier or alot more hard-er than fall of the samurai. The game is also much more polished compare to Fall of the samurai which contains a fare amount of bugs Shogun 2 is a lot more unpredictable and fairer in ways that I appreciate a lot more. In ROTS you can only do this so long before one of the big clans declares war on you for zero reason. In S2 you can just bide your time using diplomacy to stay out of wars while the other clans beat up on one another. I prefer Shogun 2 which has multiple major clans and no clan affinity system, and its minor clans are more aggressive than in ROTS. So the major clans are hardwired to all hassle you non-stop, dragging you into massive wars far before you're prepared. As in FOTS there is a clan affinity system where half the provinces on the map like your clan, and the other half hate you. Normal is too easy and Hard is too hard, mainly because there's only 6 major clans and you're one of them. Even if you have a massive navy of supreme battleships you'll still waste many hours of your life rolling your eyes as you play naval battle #532 against two wooden corvettes.ĪNYWAY moving on, Rise of the Samurai is pretty good though not anywhere as good as plain Shogun 2. You can destroy 20 ships each turn and then 20 more ships will come streaming out of nowhere to raid your ports. Playing on Normal is way too easy, and playing on Hard is doable but ridiculously boring because every turn you have to fight endless boring naval battles against huge numbers of enemy ships. Fall of the Samurai has some good ideas but they really screwed up a lot of things and they've abandoned it without fixing them. Mainly focus on getting Shogun 2, it's the best TW game in my opinion. 2K A Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia.
